Privacy Policy

ClearRack is designed so that its core file-management operations take place directly on your device. This policy explains the information processed by the app and the choices available to you.

Effective Date: September 9, 2026

ClearRack ("ClearRack," "we," "us," or "our") is a file management and storage utility designed to help you review and organize files stored on your device. The application can identify and categorize files such as images, videos, audio files, and compressed archives, provide storage usage information, and allow you to remove files you no longer want.

We respect your privacy. ClearRack is designed so that the core file-management operations take place directly on your device. We do not upload the contents of your files, photos, videos, audio recordings, archives, or other personal files to our own servers.

1. Information We Process

Files and Storage Information

To provide its primary functions, ClearRack may access information stored on your device after you grant the applicable file-management permission. Depending on how you use the application, this may include:

  • File names and file paths;
  • File types and formats;
  • File sizes;
  • File creation or modification information;
  • Storage capacity and available storage;
  • Categories of files stored on your device; and
  • Information necessary to display, organize, or remove files you select.

This information is processed locally on your device for file management, storage analysis, categorization, and deletion functions. ClearRack does not transmit the contents of these files to us.

Technical Information

If third-party services are enabled in the version of ClearRack you use, those services may receive limited technical information, such as:

  • Application version;
  • Device or operating-system information;
  • Basic diagnostic information;
  • Approximate usage or interaction information;
  • Crash or performance information; and
  • Advertising or attribution-related identifiers, where applicable.

Such information is used to understand application performance, measure campaigns, troubleshoot technical problems, and improve the application. These services do not receive the actual contents of your personal files as part of ClearRack's core file-management functionality.

2. File Management Permission

ClearRack requires file-management or applicable storage access permission because its principal functions involve examining files already stored on your device. This permission enables the application to:

  • Read and categorize supported files;
  • Calculate file and storage usage;
  • Display file information;
  • Help you locate files; and
  • Delete files when you explicitly choose to do so.

ClearRack does not use this permission to upload your files to our servers. You can revoke applicable permissions through your device settings, although doing so may prevent some or all file-management functions from operating correctly.

3. Third-Party Services

ClearRack may use carefully selected third-party technologies to support application attribution, analytics, diagnostics, and service improvement. These technologies may include:

Attribution Platform

An attribution provider may process limited advertising or campaign information, such as installation attribution, campaign identifiers, advertising identifiers, or related technical information. This helps us understand how users discover and install ClearRack.

Analytics Platform

An analytics provider may receive limited information concerning application events, feature usage, performance, or technical characteristics. Analytics information is used to understand how the application functions and to improve reliability and usability.

Firebase

ClearRack may use Google Firebase services, including services intended for analytics, diagnostics, or crash reporting. Depending on the services enabled in the applicable version, Firebase may process technical or usage-related information in accordance with Google's applicable policies.

Third-party providers operate under their own privacy terms and may process information according to their respective policies. We do not intentionally provide these providers with the contents of your personal files for analytics or attribution purposes.

4. How We Use Information

Information processed by ClearRack is used only for legitimate application-related purposes, including:

  • Providing file browsing and management functionality;
  • Calculating storage usage;
  • Categorizing files;
  • Enabling user-requested file deletion;
  • Maintaining application stability;
  • Diagnosing crashes and technical problems;
  • Measuring application performance;
  • Understanding installation attribution; and
  • Improving application functionality and user experience.

We do not use the contents of your files for advertising profiling.

5. Sharing and Sale of Personal Data

ClearRack does not sell the contents of your files or personal files. Where third-party analytics, attribution, or Firebase services are used, limited technical or pseudonymous information may be disclosed to those service providers for the purposes described above.

If applicable law considers any such disclosure to constitute "sharing" or "selling" of personal information, you may exercise your applicable opt-out rights by contacting our DPO using the information provided below. You may also disable relevant advertising identifiers or applicable device-level permissions through your operating-system settings where such controls are available.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right permitted by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

The core file information used by ClearRack remains on your device and is not retained by us on our servers.

Technical, analytics, attribution, and diagnostic information may be retained by us or our service providers only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including security, debugging, measurement, reporting, and legal compliance.

Unless a longer period is required by law or reasonably necessary to resolve a dispute or security matter, information under our direct control is generally retained for no longer than 24 months after the relevant interaction or collection event.

You may request deletion of personal information that we control, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have some or all of the following rights:

Right to Access

You may request confirmation as to whether we process personal information about you and, where applicable, request access to that information.

Right to Correction

You may ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete.

Right to Deletion

You may request that personal information under our control be deleted, subject to exceptions permitted by law.

Right to Restrict Processing

Where applicable, you may request that processing of your personal information be restricted.

Right to Know About Sharing

You may ask whether your personal information has been disclosed to third parties and, where required by law, request information about the categories of recipients.

Right to Know About Sale

You may ask whether your personal information has been sold. ClearRack does not intentionally sell the contents of your personal files.

Right to Opt Out

Where applicable, you may opt out of the sharing or sale of personal information by contacting us at the address below. You may also disable relevant advertising or tracking controls available on your device.

Right to Data Portability

Where legally applicable, you may request your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

You may lodge a complaint with the data protection or privacy regulator responsible for your place of residence or applicable jurisdiction if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any applicable right, please contact our DPO.

9. Children's Privacy

ClearRack is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in circumstances where collection was not permitted, please contact our DPO so that we can review and take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

Because certain third-party service providers may operate infrastructure in countries other than your own, limited technical, analytics, attribution, or diagnostic information may be processed internationally. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards may be used for international transfers, such as contractual safeguards or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

The local processing of your files remains on your device and is not dependent on transferring the contents of those files internationally.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. ClearRack's core file operations are performed locally, which is intended to reduce the need to transmit file contents over the internet.

Nevertheless, no electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security controls on your device, including device access protection and operating-system security updates.

12. Data You Delete Through the App

When you choose to remove a file using ClearRack, the action is initiated at your direction. ClearRack does not independently decide which files should be deleted. You should review the selected files carefully before confirming a deletion because recovery may not always be possible depending on your device and operating system.

13. End User License Agreement

Your use of ClearRack is also subject to our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). The EULA governs your license to use the application, permitted uses, restrictions, intellectual-property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, updates, and other terms governing your relationship with ClearRack.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, while the EULA governs your license and use of the application. If there is a conflict between the two documents regarding privacy practices, this Privacy Policy will control to the extent required by applicable privacy law.
